Lot 2059 HIGH CONDITION PRE-64 WINCHESTER MODEL 70 BOLT
ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 125487. Bbl. 24". Model 70 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1949. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Receiver exhibits a matte blue finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a standard blue finish, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece checkered wood pistol grip stock with added oversized black spacer and Pachmayr red rubber recoil pad. Toeline of buttstock and underside of forearm are fitted with sling swivels. Ramped, hooded, and aluminum beaded blade front sight, with blank in rear dovetail, and receiver mounted Lyman 57WJS adj. aperture rear sight. Receiver is factory drilled and tapped. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear and a few superficial handling marks overall. Bbl. and trigger guard bow exhibit some small scattered spots of light to mild pitting and finish loss. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting and a small concentrated spot of dark pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some scattered superficial handling marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remains very good overall. Front strap of pistol grip shows some spots of finish loss.
